The directory favors official agencies, regulators, audited financial reports, public archives, and long-lived source portals.
Open the calculator’s source rules
- Use Census 2000, 2010 and 2020 as the population benchmarks and preserve them permanently.
- Check machine-readable Census and FDIC sources every seven days; check official NCUA and government-finance release pages every seven days.
- Append a new reporting period only after its geography, definitions, counts, units and source pass validation.
- Store the finance year, source and statistical definition with every revenue amount.
- Do not label Census total revenue as an adopted budget or an audited ACFR actual.
- Search business sites inside the city boundary, then show their available address ZIP codes; do not treat an entire ZIP as if it were wholly inside the city.
- Count only operating public-library locations inside the calculator geography. Exclude locations the official system lists as temporarily, indefinitely or renovation-closed; routine daily and holiday hours do not reduce the operating-location count.
- Preserve missing values as unverified; never turn them into zero.
- Use concrete evidence before analysis, pattern recognition and holistic meaning.
